The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Casual Research Development Coordinator to join the Faculty of Art Design and Architecture. The incumbent will be responsible for providing high quality advice and support to procure competitive external research funding as well as support internal funding programs. This role will play a key part in supporting research funding activities and ensuring the delivery of high-quality administrative and operational processes that underpin our Facultys research excellence.

As a Casual Research Development Coordinator your duties will include but are not limited to;

  • Developing research proposals and other aspects of research management associated with expanding and developing the facultys research activities including: identification of appropriate external research funding opportunities and promotion of information to researchers; and provide individual researchers and teams with strategic advice and administrative support including reviewing drafts of external grant applications.
  • Providing high-level administrative and financial management support for research projects and programs including maintaining/using information systems databases websites and record-keeping systems.
  • Providing high-level administrative support to the Faculty Research Committee and its associated sub- committees.
  • Developing high-quality documentation including papers presentations proposals communications and briefings for a variety of audiences.
  • In consultation with the Senior Manager managing internal funding programs ensuring schemes remain within budget and conduct evaluations of the schemes in relation to strategic objectives recommending changes as required.
  • Contributing to the development implementation and maintenance of efficient and effective systems and processes that support the submission growth and pre- and post-award management of competitive grants including coordinating delivering and promoting research seminars workshops and other associated events

To be successful in this role you will be highly organised adaptable and proactive with excellent communication skills and an eye for detail. Youll have prior experience in research administration or project coordination ideally within a university environment.
