ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL ATFRONTIER MIDDLE SCHOOL
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Twelve-month 260-day work year inclusive of 13 paid holidays and 25 paid vacation days 15 responsibility days.
- Salary based on the Moses Lake Principal Association employment agreement.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Middle School Assistant Principal plays a vital role in supporting the overall leadership management and academic success of the school. Working in close collaboration with the Principal this position helps ensure a safe inclusive and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive. The Assistant Principal contributes to the development and implementation of school-wide goals instructional improvement initiatives and student support systems.
As a key member of the administrative team the Assistant Principal fosters positive relationships with staff students and families promotes high expectations for student achievement and supports a collaborative school culture grounded in equity and continuous growth. This role also involves overseeing student behavior and discipline guiding professional learning communities managing extracurricular programming and assisting in the supervision and evaluation of school personnel.
Additionally the Assistant Principal serves as the Athletic Director for both Frontier Middle School and Endeavor Middle School providing leadership and oversight for the schools athletic programs including compliance scheduling supervision and coordination with coaches families and the district office. The Assistant Principal is instrumental in helping create a school environment that prepares students for academic success personal development and well-rounded experiences through both academics and athletics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters Degree in Educational Leadership School Administration or a related field
- Valid Washington State Principal Certification (or eligibility to obtain)
- Successful teaching experience
- Proven ability to lead and work collaboratively with students staff and families
- Demonstrated ability to fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the job description
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience as a school administrator
- Middle school or secondary-level leadership and/or teaching experience
- Background in core academic instruction
- Prior experience coordinating athletics or serving as an Athletic Director
- Knowledge and experience with:
- Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
- Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
- Danielson Framework for Teaching
- Instructional strategies for multilingual learners
- Bilingual or multicultural experience; Spanish fluency is a plus

Personnel Supervision

- Uphold confidentiality due process and contractual obligations
Athletic Program Oversight
- Serve as the schools Athletic Director for Frontier Middle School and Endeavor Middle School
- Coordinate the scheduling of practices games transportation and use of facilities
- Ensure compliance with district policies safety standards and athletic regulations
- Support coaches in delivering equitable and high-quality athletic programs
- Communicate with families and staff regarding schedules eligibility and expectations
- Supervise athletic events and manage logistics for after-school sports activities
- Serve as the liaison between the school district office and athletic leagues
Communication & Community Engagement
- Maintain open and effective communication with families staff and community
- Represent the school at community functions and events
- Collaborate with external partners to support student needs and enrichment opportunities
- Model professionalism and foster trust and respect among all school stakeholders
School Operations & Management
- Assist with scheduling budgeting school safety and facilities oversight
- Participate in shared decision-making and resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with all district state and federal policies
- Oversee timely submission of reports (e.g. payroll enrollment work orders)
Professional Growth
- Set personal leadership goals aligned with school and district priorities
- Participate in ongoing professional learning and collaboration
- Stay current with educational research and leadership best practices
