You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailPatients in the Electrophysiology & Cardiac Catheterization Lab are cared for by a multidisciplinaryteam including Registered Nurses Registered Radiologic Technologists Interventional Cardiologists and Electrophysiologists. Procedures in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab are performed from pediatrics to geriatrics that include but not limited to: diagnostic EP studies atrial flutter/fib ablations PVC ablations SVTablations VT ablations temp pacer Watchman Lariat loop recorders and implantedpacemakers/defibrillators. Patients require continuous cardiac monitoring and frequent physiciannursing and technologist intervention.
The EP Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist (CV RTR) performs a variety of technical functionsand patient care activities intraprocedure. The primary function of the CV RTR is the operation offluoroscopy in the EP Lab. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: monitoringprocedures scrubbing procedures unit development projects assisting with supply and equipmentmanagement/stocking and other duties as assigned. EP CV RTR staff may be cross trained toCardiac Cath procedures and support those cases as needed. The EP CV RTR may be trained to assistin lead extraction procedures in the SOR Hybrid OR room or walk-in procedures in the Cath Lab bay.
The department is open Monday through Friday from 0645 to 1715 for routine urgent and emergentcases. Outpatient procedures are also performed at the Center for Health and Healing Building 2Multispecialty Procedure Unit (MSPU). Staff are expected to work in both locations. An on-call teamis available 7 days a week for all cases after routine hours of operation.
Assists physician during cases while operating a variety of complexradiologic imaging equipment including fluoroscopy and ultrasonographywithin the Cardiac Cath Lab suite. This includes circulating in the procedureroom operating the imaging equipment in both adult and congenitalprocedures. Cross train to another service area (Cath Lab Hybrid OR etc).
Prep the patient and prepare supplies under sterile conditions for theprocedure. Scrub in with the physician and assist in performing to use fine motor skills with prepping supplies and equipmentincluding but not limited to threading balloons on wires.
Accurately obtains x-rays for the exams while being respectful to thepatients abilities and safety issues.
Operates automatic injectors and selects the appropriate contrast agent forthe patient and the exam under the direction of the physician.
Responsible for equipment maintenance and use including but not limitedto recognizing troubleshooting reporting and documenting equipment malfunctions along with coordinating borrowing equipment from otherdepartments.
Student candidates must obtain the RT(R) (ARRT) certification within 6 months of their hire date. Candidates must have a current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) temporary license for student hires and permanent license for registered hires.
