Job Description

Job Title: Financial Reporting & Fixed Asset Manager

Location: TBD Reports To: Assistant Controller

Overview: Wolverine Fuels is a medium sized business employing over 1000 employees and is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Reporting & Fixed Asset Manager to oversee its monthly quarterly and annual financial reporting as well as fixed asset accounting. This role combines technical accounting financial analysis and asset management responsibilities using SAP and Excel. The role includes core accountabilities around the preparation of financial reports including information and data that is used by a wide variety of stakeholders including external third party (Big 4 audit firms).

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

Prepare monthly executive financial packages (Income Statement Balance Sheet Cash Flow CAPEX etc. with supporting schedules).

Analyze budget variances and write financial summaries.

Maintain performance charts (production safety compliance etc.).

Support quarterly and annual financial reporting including audit preparation.

Streamline post-close financial reporting and pre-close F&A activities to enable faster and more accurate closure.

Prepare the presentation of financial results trends summaries and highlights to the Management and Executive group once per month and ad hoc as needed.

Fixed Asset Management:

Manage asset creation transfers retirements and depreciation using SAP software.

Maintain Fixed Asset roll forward schedules and CAPEX reports.

Assist Mine Business Managers with asset processing.

Compliance & Reporting:

Maintain taxable value schedules and annual coordination of state property tax filings (CO & UT) using online portals.

Prepare census and capital expenditure surveys.

Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge of GAAP SAP and Excel.

Experience with PowerPoint Adobe Acrobat and financial systems.

Excellent analytical and communication skills.

5 or more years of financial experience in mining or equivalent operations.

CPA qualifications preferred.
