Job Description

About the Role

Reporting to the Branch Service Manager the Field Service Manager is responsible for managing and leading the operational activities of the Field Service Team within their designated geographical area. As a Field Service Manager you will ensure that your team is meeting relevant KPIs working to TMHA standards and addressing customer needs in a safe efficient and effective manner throughout the field.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the management direction and leadership of the Field Service Technicians and Field Service Controller within your team.
  • Manage and ensure the booking scheduling allocating services and maintenance in the field is done in a professional manner and in accordance with the requirements of the relevant Australian Standards and company policies.
  • Manage Field Service Technicians labour utilisation and ensure completed jobs are closed in a timely manner.
  • In conjunction with the Team Leader provide support and guidance for complex job orders.
  • Plan coordinate and manage training for your Field Service Team.
  • Development and monitoring of individual performance targets; conduct performance appraisals as required.
  • Monitor and control costs for rental fleet within the allocated budgets.
  • Manage and approve timesheets within the time and attendance system for your team.

Skills and experience:

  • Trade Qualification Heavy Plant Motor Mechanic Auto electrics or similar/relevant.
  • Extensive experience as a Technician in the Material Handling Industry or similar/relevant industry.
  • Comprehensive product knowledge with the ability to provide and understand technical explanations.
  • Strong leadership and management skills - experience leading a team mentoring and guiding teams to achieve outcomes experience in dispute resolution and performance issues.
  • Advanced communication skills (written and oral) and an ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level of computer literacy; utilising business software applications and service operations components of ERP system.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
