ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT
SUMMARY:
Responsible for supporting the Superintendent in various tasks including policy implementation communication and strategic planning which may involve creating and monitoring the school districts budget to ensure responsible financial management. Overseeing the development implementation and evaluation of curriculum and instructional programs. Play a role in developing and implementing school improvement plans and initiatives. Facilitating communication between different stakeholders including the school board principals teachers parents and the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned.)
Monitors personnel policies and record keeping.
Recruits screens and recommends employment of applicants.
Coordinates employee performance evaluation programs.
Ensures that staff members are properly licensed or credentialed and highly qualified and assists in monitoring the annual accreditation report.
Assists with development and the districts Facility Master Plan.
Collaborates with building administration to create and maintain adequate facilities and learning environments.
Administers district procedures dealing with behavioral threat assessments and disciplinary practices.
Collaborates for planning and implementation of security and safety training and response procedures and practices.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in supervising employee(s) in the Food Service Transportation and Maintenance/Grounds departments. Assists the superintendent to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing concerns and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Masters degree in Educational Leadership/Administration. At least five years experience as a building-level administrator.
CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:
Arkansas Superintendent license or District Administrator license.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read analyze and interpret professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in a specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and policies.

ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
SUMMARY:
Maintains organizes and administers the overall program of interscholastic athletics including cheer/pom and intramural activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)
Assists in selecting assigning and evaluating all coaching personnel.
Assumes leadership role in the orientation and in-service training of coaching personnel.
Represents the school district in matters of interscholastic athletics with the Arkansas Activities Association.
Assists with the planning and supervision of athletic facilities.
Works cooperatively with building administrators and other personnel in the maintenance of athletic facilities.
Is responsible for the organization scheduling and supervision of athletic events and facilities; maintains master schedules of events and facilities.
Contracts officials for all home contests; schedules police ambulance and game announcers.
Coordinates transportation for athletic activities.
Fosters school-parent relations by maintaining communications and serves as the supervisor of public relations for athletics.
Establishes and enforces the physical academic and training requirements of eligibility for participation; monitors class attendance and conduct of all athletes; coordinates required physical examinations for athletes.
Collaborates to ensure compliance with Title IX regulations.
Coordinates the insurance program for athletes.
Supervises athletic budgets and acts as purchasing agent for the athletic department in accordance with district purchasing guidelines and bid requirements.
Maintains inventory of athletic equipment.
Monitors coaches on attendance at faculty meetings; works out scheduling conflicts cooperatively with building principals.
Works cooperatively with the Ozark Hillbilly Foundation and Hillbilly Booster Clubs.
Coordinates private and community fundraising efforts for athletic facilities needs.
Shows interest and support by attending as many athletic and academic events as possible. Works cooperatively with the Ozark Area Youth Organization and/or community youth athletic leagues.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before administrators staff parents and students.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
