About the Position:

Capital Programs and Facilities Management (CPFM) is committed to planning developing and maintaining a safe sustainable and high-quality learning and working environment for the campus community. Facilities Management provides oversight of university resources and assets and is responsible for the development of the Universitys facilities including land use planning capital improvement project development construction as well as facilities operations and maintenance including custodial services landscape services building trade services mechanical and electrical and recycling services. We seek an exceptional individual to join our Financial Operations team as the Capital Analyst (Administrative Analyst/Specialist - Non-Exempt). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity openness flexibility integrity.

Under the direction of the department Finance Manager or their designee the Capital Analyst is responsible for completing a wide range of specialized analytical and administrative duties that require independent research and knowledge of financial accounting capital outlay and minor projects. It requires good judgment and effective problem-solving skills in order to support and analyze the day-today financial and contractual operations of the Finance Operations department within Capital Programs and Facilities Management. This Capital Analyst should have the ability to coordinate and collaborate with project managers directors consultants vendors and staff on various financial assignments requiring accountability for own work results. Requires initiative attention to detail and organizational skills. Performs technical duties and uses independent judgement to make decisions interpret and apply a wide range of policies and procedures of CSUF Contract and Procurement Accounts Payable Accounting and Budget Office. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study analysis evaluation development or improvement of administrative policies procedures practices or programs. Working knowledge of the general practices program or administrative specialty. Basic knowledge of and the ability to apply fundamental concepts. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Ability to learn interpret and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program organizational unit or administrative specialty. Knowledge of and the ability to apply basic methods and procedures used for research and statistical analysis. Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques. Ability to make independent decisions exercise sound judgment handle multiple priorities and organize and plan work assignments. Ability to compile write and present reports related to program or administrative specialty. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working within the California State University (CSU) system and be familiar with CSU capital construction management procedures and regulations. Background in fiscal operations within an integrated and complex agency. Working knowledge of SmartSheet is highly preferred.
