About Us: Arthur Dean Family Foundation (ADFF) is a private nonprofit family foundation established in 2016. With a small staff team of five the foundation makes approximately $4 million in annual grants to about 40 nonprofit organizations supporting young people in Marion Hamilton and Whitley Counties in Indiana. To date ADFF has provided nearly $20 million in multi-faceted grantee partner support. Our vision is for all young people to acquire the skills knowledge and opportunities to discover who they are shape their futures and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

Position Summary: The Arthur Dean Family Foundation (ADFF) seeks a Manager of Partner Relationships to join ADFFs core grantmaking team to help steward ADFFs commitment to deep relationships with grantee partner organizations in support of thriving young people. With a designated portfolio of grantee partners this team member listens to the needs and solutions of grantee partner organizations serves as a thought partner and makes funding recommendations to guide the Foundations relationship-centered approach to philanthropy.

This individual also serves as the lead staff for coordinating and implementing grantee partner learning and networking opportunities in support of continuous improvement and relationship building within the ADFF grantee partner community. Additionally this role will support the coordination of capacity-building requests in support of grantee partner organizational development.

What Youll Do

Grantee Partner Relationship Management

  • Serve as lead staff for a designated portfolio of grantee partners (15-20) centering ADFFs comprehensive partnership model which focuses on authentic relationships continuous learning and multi-faceted partner investments in support of young people.
  • In collaboration with the Grantee Partnership Team make grant funding recommendations to support programmatic capacity-building or unrestricted support for aligned organizations.
  • Actively engage with grantee partners by listening to their needs and goals while building authentic relationships based on trust and respect.
  • Provide support to grantee partners to help them best leverage ADFFs full suite of resources.
  • Connect partners to resources that help them advance their missions or better leverage existing partnerships capacity and assets.
  • Attend grantee partners programming and events as needed.
  • Regularly share grantee partner updates and learnings to support collective knowledge building -internally and externally.

Partner Collective Learning Capacity Building Coordination

  • In collaboration with the team coordinate and implement grantee partner collective learning and networking opportunities.
  • Coordinate capacity-building requests approvals communication flow and eventual reporting.
  • Identify grantee partners collective learnings and potential collaborations to inform decision-making and community-building.
  • Curate and maintain database of learning organizational and leadership development resources including a list of relationship-centered nonprofit consultants/coaches in support of grantee partners.

Operations and Culture

  • Participate in ongoing continuous improvement and co-design planning to refine the foundations partnership model and grant-making processes.
  • Work as part of a cohesive collaborative team emphasizing authentic relationships courageous conversations and ongoing learning.
  • Commit to continuous personal growth and learning related to ADFFs mission values and partner supports.
  • Provide support to board and advisory teams as needed helping to plan and prepare for meetings and carry out work between meetings in coordination with staff and board members.

What Youll Bring:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years professional work experience in the public or nonprofit sector; experience with grantmaking a plus.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to develop productive working relationships and make connections across a diverse spectrum of stakeholders.
  • Passion for the success of all young people and a commitment to an asset-based approach.
  • Appreciation of and demonstrated commitment to relationship-centered approaches participatory decision-making and continuous learning.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a joy-filled team.
