Freedom of Information Case Officer

Division - Operations - Communications

Salary - National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging fromand Londonper annum (Salary offered will be based on skills and experience)

The Information Disclosure Team (IDT) based within the Operations Division is responsible for a variety of high profile and public facing work including compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and other areas of information-based activity such as compliance with the Environmental Information Regulations and the Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations.

The teams role is crucial to the success of the relationship between the FCA the public and the regulated community. As a public body the FCA is subject to Disclosure legislation. If we get things wrong in this area we could face damage to reputation risk of fines from the Information Regulator (ICO) foster lack of confidence and diminish the FCAs authority to regulate if cannot meet regulatory information requirements.

Youll work closely with senior leaders across the FCA playing a key role in shaping responses to some of the most sensitive and high-profile issues we face. This is a unique opportunity to operate at the heart of regulatory decision-making engaging with a broad spectrum of policy and regulatory topics that affect markets firms and consumers alike. Your work will span complex subject matter and have real visibility offering scope for influence challenge and growth.
