Micah Projects is a community based not-for-profit organisation with a vision to create justice and respond to injustice at the personal social and structural levels in church government business and society. Micah Projects provides a range of support and advocacy services to individuals and families.
Caboolture Young Mothers for Young Women (CYMYW) provides tailored support to young pregnant and parenting women 20 years and under their children and families residing in the Caboolture region.
Through the Wellspring Hub young women access diverse services including group work case management antenatal services and child health clinics.
The program uses a two-generation approach to address the interconnected challenges of housing health social isolation employment education and income celebrating the resilience and strengths of young parents while supporting their childrens developmental needs.
We are seeking an Early Childhood Educator to join the CYMYW team. This role will involve developing and implementing early childhood group programs in alignment with the programs two-generation framework. The goal is to enhance the resilience and stability of young families enabling parents and children to thrive.
This is a permanent part-time opportunity at Level 4 of the SCHADS Award.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and Deliver Programs: Implement early childhood programs that support child development and parenting skills using the Parents as Teachers approach.
Collaborate and Partner: Work with families staff and community services to achieve positive outcomes for children in vulnerable families.
Service Excellence: Promote respect safety and trauma-informed practices while ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
Data Management: Maintain accurate records case notes and reports to ensure high-quality service delivery and accountability.
Teamwork and Mentorship: Actively participate in multidisciplinary teams mentoring and supporting colleagues as needed.
Essential Criteria:
Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or ACECQA-recognized qualification.
Experience developing and delivering early childhood programs that address complex issues.
Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and its practical application.
Proven ability to collaborate with families and transition children into appropriate education services.
Demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced by young vulnerable families and ability to conduct home visits.
