Position Summary

As an Platform Developer and System Administrator in our Product Development group you will be responsible for automating the setup and configuration of both Azure Cloud and on-prem platforms for internal and customer environments. In addition to setup some management and maintenance our DevOps environment testlabs and CBN product development solutions is also part of the job. In this position you will apply your knowledge of Azure Cloud and on-premises infrastructure with hands on configuration automation and written documentation. The work will enable efficient environment creation and tear down for development teams and customer delivery.

Responsibilities

IaC design and implementation: recommend tools and technologies to automate cloud deployments and on-prem equipment configuration. Develop code to rapidly deploy automated and manual test environments for Product Development teams in Azure. Automate the deployment of hardware devices such as firewalls switches and virtualization compute/storage.

Kubernetes platform design and implementation: research and recommend infrastructure and support components to add to our Kubernetes application deployment environment. Establish deployment patterns using Helm to simplify rollout and ensure a consistent environment across cloud and on-prem implementations.

Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system setup changes processes and procedures.

System Administration: Install configure virtualize and maintain servers networks and other IT infrastructure components. Leverage automation tools and scripting languages to enhance outcomes.

Performance Monitoring and Tuning: Monitor system and database performance identify issues and optimize performance.

Security Management: Implement and manage security measures to protect systems and databases from unauthorized access and threats.

Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery plans to ensure data protection and availability.

Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support for system and database-related issues including troubleshooting and resolving problems.

Qualifications :

Knowledge Skills Abilities (KSAs) and Experience

Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Engineering Information Technology (or a related field) or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.

Certifications: CompTIA Server Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate Certified Kubernetes Administrator or similar certifications are assets.

Knowledge: IaC development experience System administration principles database management principles network protocols security best practices.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills excellent communication abilities attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Competencies: Organizational skills technical independence proactive approach to identifying and solving issues.

Experience:

• 3 years of experience in a DevOps (or related) position
• 2 years of experience with cloud infrastructure provisioning configuration and management
• 5-7 years of experience in system administration with database exposure. Must have proven script writing experience.

Mandatory Requirements

Language: Fluency in English (reading writing speaking)

Physical Demands: Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs

Security Clearance: Ability to obtain (in a timely manner) and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance
