Were looking for a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to join our API Platform team. Our mission is to design build and maintain robust secure and highly-reliable APIs and SDKs that make it effortless for internal and external developers to create robotics applications. By abstracting away low-level robot complexity our platform lets the company and our customers seamlessly build scale and deploy cutting-edge robotic solutions in restaurants hotels warehouses and factory floors worldwide.
Youll be a technical pillar on a small high-leverage team that owns the full API lifecycle from design reviews and threat modeling to production rollout and iterative improvement. Your expertise systems thinking and passion for developer experience will directly shape how fast robotics innovations reach the real world.
Design and implement durable well-versioned REST and gRPC APIs in Go that expose real-time robot capabilities and telemetry.
Develop cross-language SDKs (starting with Go and expanding to Python/TypeScript) that wrap our APIs with ergonomic idiomatic interfaces.
Own service reliability by instrumenting metrics alerts and distributed tracing; participate in an on-call rotation to keep latency low and uptime high.
Collaborate with robotics infrastructure and product teams to translate hardware commands and events into intuitive API contracts.
Automate everything from CI/CD pipelines and contract testing to one-click deployment so developers can ship with confidence.
Mentor and be mentored giving thoughtful code reviews and sharing context through design docs RFCs and lunch-and-learns.
Have 5 years of back-end experience (or equivalent impact) with production services and a solid grasp of concurrency networking and performance tuning.
Built and operated API servers end-to-end from spec to production monitoring and youre an avid consumer of third-party APIs constantly studying other teams docs to learn and adopt best practices.
Know your way around API architecture patterns versioning strategies idempotency pagination OpenAPI/Protobuf specs and backward compatibility.
Get excited about developer platforms: you sweat the details of DX generate clean client code and love writing clear examples and tutorials.
Are comfortable operating microservices in cloud-native environments (Docker / Kubernetes Terraform observability stacks).
Enjoy cross-disciplinary collaboration you can align product robotics and service stakeholders around an API contract that balances elegance with pragmatism.
Are an engineer at heart but are willing to lean into product decisions.
