JOB TITLE: Corporate Planning Budgeting and Performance Consultant

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
Under the direction of the Chief Finance Officer the Corporate Planning Budgeting & Reporting Service (CFOB) works across the organization to ensure effective and efficient processes across the planning budget
and performance cycle. The Service strives to deliver simple clear and coherent planning to reporting services and products to its clients.
The following are the three key areas of focus to support the Senior CFOB Management team in achieving its service objectives:
1. Divisional Coordination Compliance and Communication
2. Divisional Budget Management
3. Management Plan Position Budgeting and Management
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engaging directly with the CFOB Service Director and under the supervision of the Chief Corporate Budget and Reporting Branch the Consultant will perform the following responsibilities:
Coordination Compliance and Communication
Coordination
- Coordinate initiatives that require inputs from multiple branches/teams;
- Lead and or support strategic reviews and exercises as/when required;
Documentation Analysis and Insights
- Prepare analysis and visualizations to drive insights and enable the production
and communication of data to inform management decision-making;
- Prepare written materials including briefing papers thematic research and notes for the record. Produce analytical reports on FTEs and positions planned
Compliance
- Provide support to Management to ensure that divisional work is consistent with internal
management decisions WFP policies Executive Board decisions and other relevant guidance;
- Support divisional compliance by coordinating and supporting the preparation of required documents (APP Management Plan Audit Observations).
Communication
- Support the Chief CFOB in driving communications and knowledge management initiatives
and activities.
- Support the development and maintenance of onboarding learning and development materials
and programs.
Budget Management
-Prepare analytical reports and support the budget planning process for CFOB activities and
CCI under the responsibility of the Director CFOB.
Other/General Responsibilities
- Guide junior staff supporting them with more complex analysis and queries
- Undertake any other tasks required to ensure the smooth operation of the CFOB Service
Working Arrangements
This is a Rome-based position. The incumbent is expected to be physically present in the office on a regular
basis.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education: Advanced University degree in Economics International Business
Management or in International Relations or Political Sciences or other
relevant fields or First University degree with additional years of related
work experience and/or trainings/courses.
Experience: Six years or more of relevant progressive postgraduate work experience in management consulting and/or relevant fields
Languages: Fluency (level C) in English language is essential.
Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language is
preferred: Arabic Chinese French Russian Spanish and/or WFPs
working knowledge.
DESIRED FOR THE ROLE:
- Experience in working with Senior Leaders/Managers
- Experience in working in a front office/divisional or department support
- Experience in cross-team or cross-functional coordination
- Knowledge of cost analysis budget/financial management and performance reporting
- Experience in Project Management
