POSITION DESCRIPTION
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead RCRA permit actions that includes: permit applications permit modifications and permit required reporting (i.e. RCRA annual report).
- Provide environmental compliance support to projects.
- Ensure implementation of waste regulations throughout the projects.
- Provide regulatory guidance in support of waste characterization and waste disposition.
- Prepare for and escort TDEC and EPA during RCRA inspections of operations.
- Provide oversight support to the projects in accordance with DOE Order 435.1.
- Provide support for the solid waste generator program in accordance with solid waste regulations.
- Provide support for waste characterization and disposition.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of waste management and inspection records.
- Review shipping documents in support of RCRA and polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) annual reporting and inspections.
- Conduct walkdowns of project areas for hazardous and universal waste compliance
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors in Related Field (Engineering Environmental Science etc.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 10years of related experience required
- Able to complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training
- Highly-effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Self-motivated requiring limited direction
- Experience with waste characterization storage packaging
- Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary team
- Experience in working with State and Federal regulators
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening which includes a background check and drug screening
- Ability to fulfill L&A Core Values
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in Department of Energy.
