Clinton High School home of the Red Tornadoes is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Wrestling Coach to lead its established wrestling program. The ideal candidate will be a passionate leader dedicated to Building Champions both on and off the mat. This individual will be responsible for the overall direction coordination and administration of the high school wrestling program while fostering an environment that promotes athletic excellence academic achievement and strong character in all student-athletes.
Program Management & Development:
Design implement and lead a comprehensive wrestling program including in-season and off-season training conditioning and skill development.
Establish and maintain a competitive schedule of matches tournaments and events in accordance with OSSAA guidelines.
Manage all administrative aspects of the program including budget management equipment inventory/ordering and travel coordination.
Recruit supervise and mentor assistant coaches to ensure a cohesive and effective coaching staff.
Coaching & Student-Athlete Development:
Provide expert instruction in wrestling techniques rules and strategies during practices and competitions.
Create a safe positive and disciplined team environment that prioritizes student-athlete well-being and sportsmanship.
Monitor and support the academic progress of all student-athletes to ensure they meet eligibility requirements and are successful in the classroom.
Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes demonstrating high moral and ethical standards.
Effectively communicate program expectations goals and information to student-athletes parents and the school community.
Compliance & Community Engagement:
Ensure the wrestling program operates in full compliance with the policies and regulations of Clinton Public Schools and the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA).
Actively promote the wrestling program within the school and the Clinton community to build support and interest.
Organize and manage fundraising activities to supplement the programs budget.
Maintain a professional and positive relationship with media officials opponents and the community.
Comprehensive knowledge of wrestling techniques strategies safety procedures and rules.
Proven experience as a successful head or assistant wrestling coach at the high school or collegiate level.
Ability to motivate student-athletes and build a positive competitive team culture.
Excellent communication organizational and interpersonal skills.
Bachelors degree from an accredited university.
Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate
