The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal Quebec the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Introduction
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our lab in advancing studies on microbial proteomics and bioinformatics. The focus of this position is to investigate life-threatening bacterial pathogens with the goal of uncovering mechanisms underlying antibiotic susceptibility tolerance and resistance. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to cutting-edge projects involving mass spectrometry-based proteomics computational analyses and integrative approaches to identify novel therapeutic targets and resistance pathways. A strong background in microbiology proteomics and bioinformatics is essential.
Responsabilities and Objectives
Design and perform bacterial culture antibiotic exposures protein purification and digestions and peptide desalting
Analyze mass spectrometry raw and processed proteomics data to identify and quantify bacterial proteins and post-translational modifications
Develop programming pipelines for the rapid analysis of bacterial proteomics data
Supervise and train students
Assist with preparation of reports manuscripts and grant applications
Present work at internal local national and international meetings.
/ Experience Education: Doctorate Degree
Field of Study: Biology or Microbiology and Immunology
Excellent English spoken and written
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision.

A Postdoctoral fellow is a full-time student currently enrolled in a Canadian University program. The individual must have recently been awarded (within 5 years) a PhD or equivalent. The Postdoctoral fellow will receive a stipend or a bursary from a professors grant for research activities that will be performed on a full-time basis. All benefits are administered by the University under which they are registered.
