Job Description

Position Summary
The Department of Chemistry in the College of Arts Sciences at Indiana University consists of a well-rounded research community with cutting-edge expertise in a wide variety of modern disciplines including analytical chemistry organic chemistry inorganic chemistry physical chemistry materials chemistry and biochemistry. Job Summary: Collaborative postdoctoral research will be conducted on lanthanide oxide nitride and boride clusters anions and neutrals using a combination of anion photoelectron spectroscopy (traditional and two-dimensional). The goals include mapping the intrinsic electronic and molecular structures of these clusters determining the nature of strong photoelectron-valence electron interactions and how they can be leveraged to drive transitions in the clusters and exploring properties of controlled mixed lanthanide species. This research is largely experimental but is done in close collaboration with two theory groups. Responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day operations on the project including maintaining equipment ensure forward progress on data acquisition and manuscript preparation contribute intellectually to the project.
