Location: Napa
We are partnering with a highly rated resort hotel to hire an experienced and strategic Assistant Director of Finance. This hands-on leadership role will manage the Finance and Accounting Department and support financial operations across multiple entities. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented analytical professional with strong leadership skills and hospitality industry experience.
Oversee all accounting operations ensuring compliance with GAAP and maintaining robust internal controls
Manage the full month-end close process including journal entries reconciliations and financial reporting
Prepare and analyze financial statements management reports and supporting schedules
Monitor and forecast cash flow across multiple accounts to ensure operational efficiency
Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets forecasts and financial models
Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts monthly; promptly investigate and resolve discrepancies
Maintain accurate intercompany accounting across multiple entities
Develop and implement accounting policies procedures and process improvements
Provide guidance mentoring and leadership to the accounting team
Travel occasionally to the Napa Valley property to support on-site financial operations
Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field required
CPA MBA or CHAE certification strongly preferred
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting including 3 years in a leadership role
Prior experience in the hospitality industry (hotels resorts or restaurants) strongly preferred
In-depth knowledge of GAAP cash management and financial reporting
Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to interpret complex data and influence decision-making
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities in a collaborative hands-on setting
