The Role:We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Civil Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for a technical expert with 10 years of experience in civil site design infrastructure projects and project leadership. The ideal candidate will provide oversight on a variety of complex civil engineering projects and mentor junior staff while supporting the growth of our practice.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Lead and manage the design and delivery of civil engineering projects including site development grading drainage utilities and roadway design
- Prepare and review detailed engineering plans specifications cost estimates and technical reports
- Coordinate with internal teams clients contractors and public agencies to ensure successful project outcomes
- Serve as a technical expert and quality control reviewer on complex design challenges
- Oversee permitting processes and ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
- Participate in proposal development project scoping and fee estimation
- Support business development by nurturing client relationships and identifying new opportunities
What You Bring to the Team:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (Masters preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 10 years of progressive civil engineering experience preferably in consulting or private-sector infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in civil design software (e.g. AutoCAD Civil 3D MicroStation HEC-RAS and StormCAD)
- Strong understanding of civil site design grading stormwater management and utility coordination
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and project management experience
Essential Physical Functions:
- Sit/stand at a desk or computer
- Walk stoop stand and move around job sites
- Travel and occasional site visits requiring stooping standing and lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Frequent communication via phone video or in-person meetings
- Ability to focus on digital and paper-based information for extended periods
- Some project-based travel may be required
