You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Patient Access Services Representative serves as an expert in gathering patient demographic information and ensuring reimbursement for services. The Patient Access Services Representative provides a range of intake and associated administrative services pertaining to patients being admitted to the hospital and/or treatment facility or receiving outpatient services to include obtaining demographic insurance and medical information; collecting co-pays and deposits; scheduling follow-up appointments; and ordering diagnostic tests as directed.
The Patient Access Services Representative facilitates patient and information flow by directing patients to correct locations answering incoming telephone calls and providing administrative support. The Patient Access Services Representative provides accurate patient medical financial or procedural information to patients or approved outside entities as directed. The Patient Access Services Representative is responsible for verifying patient insurance identifies issues and participates in process improvement initiatives.
The ideal Patient Access Services Representative candidate is organized detail-oriented and shows a demonstrated commitment to effective customer service delivery integrity and the ability to work productively as a member of a team. The Patient Access Services Representative is responsible for the collection of self-pay balances for hospital and clinic patients while providing exceptional customer service. The Patient Access Services Representative will handle outgoing and incoming calls correspondence as well as face to face communications with patients. Job duties include assessing the patients ability to pay establishing payment arrangements providing patients with Nashville General Hospitals financial assistance program information assisting patients with applications for government programs (Medicaid) and following-up to facilitate prompt and accurate resolution of outstanding balances.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years experience in the healthcare or related field with emphasis on medical collection and insurance processes preferred.
