Requirements:
NYS Spanish certification is a MUST!
Bachelors degree required.
A masters Degree is preferred.
Literacy and fluency in Spanish.
Strong background in theory & practice of the Spanish Language.
Excellent Classroom management skills.
Excellent organizational written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.
Team Player.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Have a thorough Understanding of the Core knowledge of the Spanish Program.
- Maintain an inventory of the foreign language (Spanish) material.
- Help students communicate and understand the Spanish language by creating lesson plans that cover essential aspects including grammar vocabulary pronunciation and conversational skills.
- Encourage students to practice the vocabulary they have learned and assist them in developing accurate listening speaking reading and writing skills in Spanish.
- Practice techniques such as role-playing interactive exercises dialogue language games literature films and other formal exercises to engage students in effective communication.
- Teach about Spanish-speaking countries their unique cultures and traditions.
- Prepare students for oral and written examinations.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to create interdisciplinary units that teach grade-level content knowledge and skills through Spanish.
- Use the state Standards and curriculum to create a rigorous objective-driven arts-infused Spanish.
- Plan daily classroom work based on online teaching preparing for the course of study to meet the Spanish curriculum requirements.
- Able to work cooperatively with supervisors colleagues parents and students.
- Adjust the pace and provide individualized attention to students based on their assessment results.
- Will help with Supervision as needed and assigned.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Willing to attend the required training.
- Report any areas of concern to the Principal immediately.
- Maintain required records and reports to document growth and development throughout the year and share with staff.
- Assist the principal with additional projects as requested including any other activities that support the schools success.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Administration.
