Description

Regional Sales Manager

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) plays a key role in driving growth by introducing and presenting our enterprise solutions to some of the largest K-12 school districts in the country. The RSM role is responsible for developing and managing sales strategies and opportunities within a defined territory achieving assigned sales quotas and building strong relationships with key decision-makers.

POSITION DETAILS

Structured as a remote full-time exempt position with commission and bonus potential. This position will report to the VP of Revenue.

We have been a 100% remote company since the beginning! This position is eligible for remote work from the following locations: USA.

The Details

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and execute a territory-specific sales strategy to build demand generate pipeline and close new business.
  • Accurately forecast monthly quarterly and annual sales performance.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales quotas.
  • Lead sales activities and manage resources within the assigned region.
  • Deliver compelling virtual and in-person solution presentations to audiences of varying sizes.
  • Monitor market trends state education policies and competitive activity to inform strategy for assigned states.
  • Engage K12 decision-makers in consultative conversations to understand needs and align solutions.
  • Navigate complex sales cycles using a solutions-based approach tailored to the education sector.
  • Maintain clear consistent reporting on pipeline activity and deal progression.
  • Leverage deep understanding of district goals funding mechanisms local education agencies and pain points to craft compelling tailored solutions.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategic account plans for a portfolio of the nations largest and most complex school districts.
  • Travel up to 50% as needed to support sales efforts.

  • Industry Expertise: The RSM should possess a solid understanding of the K-12 education landscape and be confident engaging with school district stakeholders and leaders. Familiarity with the needs of art educators as well as knowledge of art curriculum and academic standards is a strong plus.

Position Requirements

While we have identified specific requirements for this role we acknowledge that not all candidates may possess every requirement listed. EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years of Enterprise or B2B complex sales experience
  • Successful enterprise software sales experience preferably in K-12 with curriculum and professional learning platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a variety of technology systems and platforms (MS Office Google Suite Slack etc.)
  • Hubspot CRM knowledge is a plus.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

  • A bachelors degree from an accredited institution is a plus but not required

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to view computer screens for significant periods of time. The Art of Education University is an online university; therefore 95-98% of ones time will be spent on or using technology.
  • Ability to use a laptop keyboard with accuracy.
  • Ability to hear at normal levels and through electronic devices such as laptops earbuds phones and the like.

COMPENSATION

Compensation is commensurate with experience and market. We encourage you to discuss your compensation requirements early in the process.

The Process

For most roles the process is as follows:

  • Step 1: 30-minute phone interview with the recruiter
  • Step 2: Interview with the hiring manager
    • For high-collaboration roles you will be asked to participate in a 45-60 minute Zoom interview with the hiring manager.
  • Step 3: Hobby Presentation & Interview
    • Since this is a role leading a business development team this step is intended to see how you present to a group. You will be asked to give a 30-minute Hobby presentation to a panel in a 1-hour Zoom interview with 2-3 additional stakeholders. The intention is to give us a chance to see your skills in action and to ask additional questions as well as an opportunity to get to know team members that you will work closely with.
