What Youll Do:
As Estimator youll play a key role in the early stages of every custom project by developing detailed accurate and timely cost estimates for:
- Large-format graphics (e.g. wall murals window films signage)
- Custom printed substrates (vinyl clear films specialty materials)
- Commercial installations in healthcare education and hospitality spaces
Your Accountabilities in the Role:
- Review quote requests artwork specs and layouts from the Sales and Art departments
- Analyze production steps materials and timelines to generate cost-effective estimates
- Create layouts to determine the most efficient run method and substrate use
- Account for labor shipping handling and markups
- Ensure alignment with project budgets and profit goals
- Provide internal documentation and job packets for Production
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve scope or materials questions
- Conduct periodic cost studies to maintain pricing accuracy and efficiency
Position Requirements:
- 2 years of estimating or quoting experience in a commercial printing large-format graphics or signage environment
- Strong understanding of substrates print methods and production workflows
- Comfortable reading and interpreting proofs job specs and design layouts (not blueprints)
- Proficiency in estimating software Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator or similar tools
- Solid math organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to color material quality and design detail
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
Other Important Information:
Pay/Salary: Hourly position based on skills
- And the compensation will grow as the team member grows!
Reports To: VP of Business Operations & Sales
Core Hours: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Typical Work Week: M-F; 40 - 42 hours a week on average during peak times.
Direct Reports: None
Travel: Limited; less than 5%
Work/Environment: Normal office environment with occasional visits to manufacturing area. Requires good vision with ability to see colors.
COVID Protocol: No Special Protocol; Individuals can wear masks if desired
