- Deliver assigned AART and Industrial Technology courses including dual enrollment instruction for ICA students during theacademic year.
- Use pedagogy and instructional technology that best support student learning and workforce preparation.
- Ensure delivery aligns with established course objectives and program learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely records including grades attendance and student documentation.
- Use Ivy Techs Learning Management System (Canvas) to support teaching assessment and communication.
- Develop and maintain curriculum consistent with AART program standards and regional industry needs.
- Support the transition from high school-based instruction to adult-focused industry-aligned training.
- Ensure instructional practices meet safety compliance and instructional effectiveness standards.
- Provide feedback and support to promote engagement skill development and retention.
- Maintain office hours and collaborate with student support services and academic advisors.
- Monitor student progress and provide interventions or referrals when necessary.
- Stay current in automation robotics and electrical technologies relevant to AART instruction.
- Participate in professional development including certifications industry site visits and training.
- Build and sustain partnerships with regional employers to align curriculum with current workforce demands.
- Engage with community stakeholders to identify emerging industry needs and adapt instructional focus accordingly.
- Participate in program and college-level committees faculty meetings and improvement initiatives.
- Support program accreditation curriculum development and strategic growth of the AART program.
- Attend college events such as commencement and community engagement activities as assigned.
A qualified full-time faculty member meets the education component of the School of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering & Applied Science discipline standard through one of the following three routes:
Route 1:
- Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in technology engineering engineering technology or a directly related field and
- Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR) and
- Has two years of directly related work experience specifically linked to the competencies listed in the COR;
Route 2:
- Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution and
- Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR) and
- Has five years of directly related work experience specifically linked to the competencies listed in the COR;
Route 3:
- Possesses an earned associate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in a discipline directly related to the program and
- Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR) and
- Has three years of directly related work experience specifically linked to the competencies listed in the COR.
- Experience teaching high school or adult learners in dual enrollment or dual credit settings.
- Technical expertise in industrial automation robotics systems sensors PLCs and industrial safety.
- Proficiency with instructional platforms such as Canvas and classroom/lab safety procedures.
- Experience supporting or delivering workforce-aligned training programs.
