Job Description

Job Title: Government & Regulatory Affairs Specialist

Department: Legal

Location: Toledo OH

Reports To: Director Government Affairs & Regulatory Law

Position Summary

The Government & Regulatory Affairs Specialist plays a pivotal role in advancing Owens Cornings legal policy and advocacy objectives. This position supports enterprise-wide initiatives by monitoring and interpreting legislative and regulatory developments coordinating cross-functional responses and contributing to the development of internal policies and external advocacy strategies. Acting as a strategic connector between Government Affairs Regulatory Law and business units the Specialist will assist the Director of Regulatory Law and Government Affairs Director in ensuring alignment between compliance efforts and enterprise goals. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong potential in understanding policy navigating regulations and working collaboratively to achieve results showing an aptitude for handling regulatory operational and strategic priorities seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor analyze and track federal state and local legislative and regulatory developments affecting Owens Cornings North American operations and provide timely summaries to the government affairs and regulatory law teams
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of internal policy documents and regulatory guidance including the Regulatory Law Standard Trade Association Participation Guidelines and enterprise/business advocacy strategies
  • Assist in the development of government affairs internal and external briefings position papers and internal communications tailored to stakeholder audience
  • Coordinate and support Government Affairs and Regulatory Law initiatives including ownership of the Monthly Regulatory Law Update trade association committee participation across the enterprise and interaction Manage and update regulatory and legislative tracking tools and databases to ensure accuracy and accessibility
  • Assist in aligning and coordinating regulatory and advocacy efforts across business units and regions to ensure consistency and strategic integration.
  • Assist in execution and communication of targeted advocacy strategies that advance corporate and business unit priorities including capitol hill visits and external stakeholder visits to OC facilities
  • Facilitate and coordinate interactions with external stakeholdersincluding OC lobbying consultants government agencies trade associations and internal teamsto effectively influence and advance legislative regulatory and advocacy objectives.

  • Regulatory & Legislation Tracking: Demonstrated ability to scope structure and manage legislative and regulatory tracking policy implementation and compliance initiatives across jurisdictions with support from senior team members.
  • Policy Impact Analysis: Ability to evaluate how proposed or enacted regulations affect business operations and translating those insights into strategic recommendations under the guidance of experienced professionals.
  • Compliance & Advocacy Alignment: Assists in coordinating legal and government affairs efforts to ensure advocacy strategies are compliant and aligned with enterprise risk frameworks with direction from senior colleagues.
  • Trade Association Coordination & Process Coordination: Supports the management of recurring deliverables such as comment letters regulatory filings and stakeholder engagement plans with precision and consistency under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Communication & Documentation: Produces high-quality written materials including briefings internal updates and executive summaries with oversight. Adept at tailoring messaging for diverse audiences with mentorship from experienced team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in public policy Political Science Environmental Policy Business or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in a relevant field such as government or regulatory affairs regulatory compliance public policy support government relations support public affairs or any other areas that involve significant interaction with regulatory bodies policy-making institutions or trade associations
  • Experience in a corporate policy trade association or government setting preferred
