Job Description

Individualized Home Supports and Respite (IHSR) Supervisor

PAI a leading provider of services for adults with disabilities has a need for a creative and dynamic leader to grow and manage the Individualized Home Supports and Respite (IHSR) Program. While the position may support participants statewide it will office out of our White Bear Lake location.

The Opportunity

As the IHSR Supervisor at PAI you will grow and manage the IHSR program by interfacing with case managers participants and their families; collaborating with other leaders regarding business performance; managing a personal case load and supervising IHSR staff.

The Organization

Founded in 1990 PAI is a nonprofit that provides services that empower the individual choices of adults with disabilities to achieve meaningful participation in and connection to the community. We enhance personal community and employment connections through a variety of innovative services including community exploration and enrichment life skills training vocational skill development job training and coaching employment placement services community and/or on-site employment music and pet therapy and utilizing technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement person-centered services that are important to and for participants.
  • Act as a primary contact to participants their support systems and other interdisciplinary team members to achieve desired outcomes program and support services.
  • Develop person-centered services and accompanying licensing documentation and design the programs service plan in cooperation with the participant and his/her representatives.
  • Ensure that program services meet 245D licensing requirements.
  • Manage a personal case load.
  • Hire train and manage IHSR staff.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with County and Tribal Agencies to ensure program satisfaction and generate admissions to the IHSR program.
  • Grow and scale the organizations IHSR program.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Meet Designated Coordinator standards as established per 245D. Minimally have one of the following:
    • a baccalaureate degree in a field related to human services and one year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older;
    • an associate degree in a field related to human services and two years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older;
    • a diploma in a field related to human services from an accredited postsecondary institution and three years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; or
    • minimum of 50 hours of education and training related to human services and disabilities; and
    • four years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older under the supervision of a staff person who meets the qualifications identified in clauses (1) to (3).
  • At least one year of experience with IHSR services is preferred.
  • Rich understanding of both basic and intensive services under Chapter 245D.
  • At least one year of experience leading or managing staff.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently.
  • Willingness and ability to work effectively and collaboratively throughout the organization.
  • Excellent skills in organization communication and attention to detail.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Pass a DHS background study and Office of the Inspector General (OIG) and maintain clearance to provide direct contact services without continuous supervision.
  • Solid skills in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn and apply other systems for recruiting payroll etc. Ability and willingness to apply other technology solutions to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Reliable transportation for work driving purposes valid drivers license proof of valid car insurance satisfy insurance criteria for driving history and permit driving record checks as needed.

Salary: $49000-$58000 annually
