The University of Nevada Las Vegas invites applications for IT Support Specialist - Application Administrator Information Technology (HYBRID ELIGIBLE) R0147745.

ROLE of the POSITION

The IT Support Specialist - Application Administrator is responsible for the deployment configuration maintenance and reliable operation of enterprise applications at UNLV. This position serves as the primary point of contact for application support ensuring optimal performance security and accessibility.

In addition to daily operational support the role plays a strategic part in advancing service delivery by actively engaging with end-users and departments to understand their evolving needs. The incumbent ensures that applications are not only maintained but continuously optimized to meet the functional academic and administrative goals of the university. Through collaboration proactive service improvement and user-centric application management this position supports the broader mission of delivering technology solutions that enable institutional success.

Some of the applications the incumbent will administer are the Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager e-signature and document retention platforms. This involves configuring these tools managing updates overseeing security compliance and ensuring they meet institutional requirements for efficiency security and compliance.

This position has a broad scope engaging with users across the university and collaborating with IT and administrative departments to ensure that technology aligns with business needs and drives continuous improvement.

Customer Service Expectations: This position is responsible for maintaining a customer-focused approach in all duties ensuring professional timely and effective interactions with internal and external stakeholders. To provide excellent service the employee will: listen to customers and understand their needs; help customers solve problems; demonstrate an eagerness to help; exhibit a professional disposition; be approachable respectful and team-oriented; take ownership of inquiries and assignments; provide updates for customers; and be familiar with the basic operations of the university in order to understand customer needs better.

FLEXIBLE WORK HYBRID ELIGIBLE (Up to 2 days per week)

This position has flexible work scheduling options available including hybrid work arrangements to include up to two (2) days per week based on acceptable performance and organizational needs after six (6) months of employment in alignment with theUNLV Flexible Work PolicyforFlexible Work Arrangements at UNLV(subject to approval).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires an earned Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and a minimum of three (3) years of related professional experience.

Experience in a higher education environment and one (1) year of supervisory experience is preferred. In addition ITIL Foundation or equivalent certification Microsoft AWS or similar vendor certifications (e.g. Azure Fundamentals AWS CCP) and Security or other security-related certifications are preferred.

Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
