You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAdministers high-energy radiation therapy treatments to patients with malignant and benign disease processes with consideration of treatment techniques and patients age and mobility. Contributes to department efficiency by accurately scheduling performing statistics billing documenting checking charts chart rounds imaging and other procedural activities. Assists the physicians and other staff during simulation treatment room set-up examinations and special procedures with consideration of treatment techniques and patients age and mobility. Contributes to ongoing clinical instruction and evaluation of radiation therapy students.
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Registered as a Technologist (RT) and certified in Radiation Therapy (T) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required within 1 year of hire date.
2. Bachelors degree in Radiation Therapy or a comparable health related degree preferred.
3. One to two years of experience as a Radiation Therapist preferred.
4. Experienced in quality assurance activities preferred.
5. At hire Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required. (ACLS and/or PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS)
6. Other certifications may be required as identified in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Knows understands incorporates and demonstrates the Organizations Mission Vision and Values in behaviors practices and decisions.
2. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate Child Adolescent Adult Geriatric as applicable).
3. Revenue management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.
4. Administers radiation treatments in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist.
5. Performs simulations of patients as instructed by the physician.
6. Assists in the treatment planning treatment device fabrication and basic dosimetry calculations.
7. Maintains accurate and complete records for patient care billing scheduling equipment checks and quality assurance.
8. Maintains Clinical Ladder level requirements.
9. Good interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients employees physicians.
