Job Description

Pyroteks Tax Intern will gain entry-level manufacturing industry experience by learning applying and performing various organizational functions as assigned while actively engaged and participating in a seasonal/temporary internship program.  Support assigned department by assisting the Tax Department team with gathering preparation and maintenance of tax-related documents.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Tax/Accounting Skill. Basic knowledge of accounting tax and ability to research and analyze data. Ability to maintain confidentiality in the handling of information related to Pyrotek products and business relations.
  • Core People Skills.  Ability to positively interact and work collaboratively with a diverse group of people at all levels of the organization.  
  • Communication Skills. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations listen and obtain clarification and respond well to questions.  Proficiency in writing clearly and concisely and editing work for spelling and grammar.  
  • Computer/Applications Skills. Strong computer skills.  Proficient with Microsoft Office Products with heavy emphasis understanding and applying advanced Excel skills.  Ability to perform data entry.
  • Core Business Skills. Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in handling of proprietary and confidential information.  Ability to work independently without significant direction and to use resources effectively to figure it out.  Strong critical thinking skills judgment and keen attention to detail and accuracy.  Exceptional prioritization time management and organizational skills. 

Qualifications :

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma and currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Finance Accounting Business or a related field plus one (1) year of completed course studies in area of emphasis.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Actively engage and work in partnership with Tax Department leadership and support personnel to understand industry and departmental processes.
  • Learn and support assigned areas responsibilities and functions including but not limited to:
    • Assist with preparation of Finance Accounting Standard (FAS) fixed asset database and reporting.
    • Assist with state estimated tax payments and extensions.
    • Prepare tax return workpapers to assist with federal state and local tax returns (e.g. Formsetc.). Ensure submissions are completed in a timely fashion.
    • Assist Tax Department with automation efforts by creating templates and organizing supporting documentation to support compliance processes.
    • Conducts tax research summarizes findings and supports strategic tax planning projects.
  • Perform project work for an assigned area and/or scope of work and present related information to corresponding stakeholders.

Must be able to sit for long periods-of-time bend and reach use stairs lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and communicate effectively in English by telephone in person and in writing. Effectively use a personal computer office equipment and telephone.

Generally work within an office environment.


Additional Information :

The minimum and maximum hourly range for this full-time position is $22.00 - $25.00.  This is a seasonal part-time non-benefited position.  Full-time employment may be extended at end of internship.   

Our salary ranges are determined by role level and location.  Within the range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including but not limited to job-related skills experience and relevant education and/or training.  Please note that the compensation details listed in this posted role reflect the base salary only and do not include bonus or benefits.
