Join a dynamic tax department at an expanding publicly traded company close to campus! Learn from a team of CPAs and accountants with various backgrounds. Nelnet is a United States-based conglomerate that deals in the administration and repayment of student loans and education financial services. The company is headquartered in Lincoln Nebraska. The company provides a range of products through its subsidiaries that include; customer service for student loan borrowers technology related to student loan customer service outsourcing services for guaranty agencies tuition payment plans education planning enrollment-related services and higher education planning tools and solar/renewable energy.- Assist on a variety of projects within corporate tax and accounting
- Support state incentive tax credit filings
- Preparation of income tax and other miscellaneous tax filings
- Assist with various tax correspondence from all jurisdictions
- Help with various business and tax research projects
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Minimum Required Experience: Working towards a degree in Accounting Finance or Law with aspirations to attain 150 credit hours to sit for the CPA exam. Prior tax internship experience preferred.
COMPETENCIES SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES: Prideful attention to detail with good excel word and general PC skills. Great oral and written communication skills. An ability to multi-task and prioritize. A desire to conduct research and problem solve. An ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly.
