Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician - Handyman is responsible for carpentry drywall painting plumbing minor mechanical and electrical maintenance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe working conditions 
  • Read use and interpret measuring devices gauges and inspection tools 
  • Perform all required necessary preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment 
  • Actively participate on teams and offer suggestions for improvement 
  • Answer machine alarms as they occur and identify and address the root cause.  
  • Follow all 5S guidelines  
  • Perform and document inspections per cGMP for work instruction sheet on device history sheet records and work instruction sheet tables 
  • Follow all Lock Out/Tag Out rules 
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot any pneumatic electrical or mechanical malfunction on a variety of machines  
  • Experienced in carpentry drywall painting plumbing minor mechanical and electrical
  • Repair and maintain electrical controls on equipment (chillers air compressors water pumps and HVAC) including servicing repairing adjusting and testing machines and devices primarily on the basis of electronic principles  
  • Upload programs to controls in the events of program loss or CPU replacement 
  • Conduct TPM activities as required 
  • Input Maintenance work orders into the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (SAP)  
  • Monitor processes show an awareness of issues and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issues  
  • Perform weekly monthly and as required preventive maintenance (PM)  
  • Perform root cause analysis for safety quality and processing issues 
  • Suggest ways to improve the efficiency and safety of our work and environment Comply with all company policies  
  • Troubleshoots and locates the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipment. 
  • Brainstorms with other maintenance personnel and outside technical support as needed. 
  • Restores damaged or malfunctioning equipment to operation by repairing replacing and or adjusting electrical mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic systems. 
  • Controls down time by scheduling repairs with the Facilities Manager. 
  • Maintains good communications with Facilities Manager  
  • Maintains ongoing list of projects with timeline to be addressed and completed. 
  • Assists other maintenance personnel as needed 
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. 
  • Ensures the work is completed with technical excellence and in an efficient and cost-effective fashion. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 
  • Must have 3 or more years of experience in a technical hands-on position
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40lbs with repetitive movements 
  • Ability to push and pull items 
  • Ability to stand and/or walk up to constantly during the shift 
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders 

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office applications required and SAP experience preferred 
  • Ability to work independently from verbal and/or written instructions required 
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting (AB Koyo Omron Mitsubishi etc.) 
  • Must understand Lean Manufacturing concepts 
  • Must be mechanically inclined and can use basic hand tools 
  • Must have strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in a clean manufacturing and warehouse environment that may include moderate noise levels

PAY RANGE: $25.00 - $35.00 USD Hourly (This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.)
