Job Description

Purpose Statement: This position provides technical and analytical support for customs and trade compliance at the Costa Rica manufacturing location ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and trade laws.

Major Responsibilities:

 * Ensure compliance of all import/export transactions with in-country customs laws.

 * Resolve day-to-day issues with customs brokers and forwarders to prevent border delays.

 * Interface with AbbVie affiliates and suppliers on trade-related matters.

 * Provide guidance on import/export requirements and documentation including  tariff classification customs valuation and country of origin determination.

 * Support customs requests for information and post-entry documentation reviews.

 * Process import permits through Customs Systems such as TICA and VUCE.

 * Support the business in import/export compliance matters and adaptations due to regulatory changes.

 * Assist in developing solutions to enhance trade operations and compliance.

 * Capture and analyze trade operations metrics for site and Global Trade Compliance leadership reporting.

 * Execute self-audit programs to maintain compliance with customs law and internal policies.

 * Carry out all other duties as required by the immediate supervisor.

 

 


Qualifications :

* Education: Bachelors degree in international business Logistics Supply  Chain Management or a related field.

 * Experience: At least 2-3 years of professional experience in trade compliance logistics or related areas.

 * Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills.

 * Advanced English proficiency (must).

 * Understanding of global trade compliance regulations and processes.

 * Strong written and verbal communication skills.

 * Ability to adapt make decisions negotiate build relationships and manage stakeholder interactions.

 * Drive execution customer orientation problem solving and data-driven improvement.
