Women in Trades Manager Manufacturing Centres of Excellence

Location negotiable across NSW (subject to campus availability)

Temporary Full-time until June 2028

$198595.76 package includes salary ($176043.00) employers contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

The TAFE NSW Manufacturing Centres of Excellence (MCoE)are National Centres of Excellence a joint initiative between the Australian Government and NSW Government under the National Skills Agreement.

MCoEs are an innovative education model to tackle the manufacturing skills challenge for NSW and Australia. Located in Western Sydney the Hunter and the Illawarra each centre specialises in different areas. These include advanced manufacturing with robotics and 3D printing supporting clean energy in net zero manufacturing and sustainable manufacturing practices supporting the heavy manufacturing industry and supporting new and existing workforce build the skills they need for the future.

By partnering with other CoEs TAFES universities and industry these nationally networked centres ensure training aligns with real-world job requirements. The MCoEs offer short courses microskills and will soon deliver higher apprenticeships to help individuals become job-ready or enhance their skills for future opportunities.

About the role

This role is responsible for leading the design execution and continuous improvement of targeted initiatives that actively increase the participation of women and gender-diverse students in trade-based education. It plays a central role in delivering measurable outcomes that align with TAFE NSWs strategic commitment to enhancing gender diversity across trades and other non-traditional skill areas.

The position requires a hands-on approach to stakeholder engagement working closely with a broad and complex network of partners including industry bodies government agencies schools community organisations and internal TAFE NSW teams. Through these collaborations the role drives the co-design and implementation of inclusive strategies that remove barriers and create clear supported pathways for underrepresented learners.

Innovation is a key focus with the role expected to identify apply and scale effective practices that improve access participation and success for women and gender-diverse students. This includes staying informed of emerging trends evaluating program impact and adapting approaches to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with organisational goals.

A critical component of the role involves promoting and representing the MCoE (Manufacturing Centre of Excellence) across New South Wales. The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel statewide including regular visits to the three MCoE campuses located in Newcastle Wetherill Park and Wollongong to support outreach engagement and program delivery efforts.

About You

We are seeking a dynamic and strategicWomen in Trades Manager with lived experience working in traditional trade industryto lead initiatives that increase the participation of women in trade and non-traditional skill areas. In this pivotal role you will develop and implement evidence-based strategies set measurable targets and independently drive actions that support gender diversity in trades.

Youll have the ability to take pragmatic steps within the organisation to embed change mobilising cross-functional teams and leveraging internal capabilities to deliver impact. With a strong focus on data and research youll ensure all initiatives are backed by insights and aligned with broader organisational and government goals including the NSW Governments target of 15% female representation in trades by 2030.
