About the role

This role will assist and support the City Compliance Group and the Permit Authority in respect to permit issues and finalisation whilst overseeing and maintaining system procedures and processes to ensure performance in accordance with legislative requirements.

The Permits Officer reports to the Principal Permits Officer. The role will liaise with complainants property owners permit holders industry groups other statutory bodies governments departments and members of the public.

Role accountabilities include:

  • General administrative duties including the review management and recording of electronic documentation and ensuring timely receipt and allocation of incoming correspondence and telephone enquiries
  • Prepare and issue statutory documentation under the Building Act 2016 and correspondence regarding requests for further information permits certificates of completion extensions of time and processing of start of works.
  • Participate in the maintenance and continual improvement of documented processes and procedures and support for the implementation of Councils online lodgment system.
  • Effectively support the Group and the Permit Authority to ensure the achievement of legislative requirements
