The role of Senior Principle Engineer Mechanical is to make technical contribution in mechanical sustaining engineering activities by providing technical contribution within an area of expertise to lead requirement analysis detailed design and verification activities for an assigned product project or solution. The successful candidate will possess solid hands-on technical abilities an excitement and energy for product development and a passion for their work and the impact it has on meeting the needs of patients.

This position is based out of Bangalore and reporting to the Associate Director - HW & Systems for Front Line Care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate or lead in design/change reviews with the Sustaining Team and Engineering Change Board justify design detail and collaborate with other team members
• Identifies technical problems provides innovative creative solutions; shares technical knowledge with team.
• Incorporates business market industry and competitive knowledge into technical solutions that can be readily adapted to changes in technology and/or clinical use.
• Generates alternatives and takes reasonable risks while solving technical problems.
• Ensures successful integration of mechanical design entities with electrical and consumable components. Leads the troubleshooting and problem solving efforts related to mechanical aspects of the design and interfaces with other design constituents.
• Work and collaborate closely with Project Manager to define and solve engineering changes/problems to make products that meet all performance and functional criteria within required project schedule with minimum guidance.
• Completes detailed high quality technical documentation of product designs through the generation and maintenance of design requirement specifications engineering prints material specifications and bills-of-materials
• Seeks knowledge of the business market industry and competitive environment.
• Uses existing engineering tools and best practices to report and track product and process metrics.
• Challenges project teams and established work processes and proactively finds creative methods to reach desired performance levels
• Informs others proactively about developments or issues that affect their work and their ability to meet commitments.
• Presents the findings / objective evidences and able to present with rationale with applicability / exclusions.
• Ensure the team adheres to the applicable processes and is responsible for the documentation quality of the teams deliverables.
• Will be the leader/ point of contact of the functional group for all quality audits.
• Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective / Preventive action as needed.
• Identify and implement appropriate technologies development process and tools that are followed by the industry best-in-class organizations including Six sigma tools Simulation techniques etc.
• Be the technical mentor/ coach for younger engineers in the functional group.

Your Team:

You will be reporting to Associate Director - HW & Systems for Front Line Care.

This position does not have any direct reports. You will need to work collaboratively with R&D and cross functions.

Your Location:

The role is located in the BRD facility in Bangalore India.

What Youll Bring:

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical engineering with over 15 yrs of work experience in design and development testing of complex mechanical components/ subsystems/ products.
• A demonstrated track record in electromechanical hardware development preferably medical devices or other highly regulated products such as military hardware.
• A proven track record of management/leadership effectiveness in a fast paced environment.
• Proven ability to create results within budget timeline and product/project deliverables.
• Certification on Six Sigma Black belt will be an added advantage
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment
• Proficient with 2D and 3D modeling software (SolidEdge) with GD&T knowledge.
• Experience in finite element analysis (FEA) ANSYS on structural analysis.
• Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools will be preferred
• Experience in using DFSS tools Stack-up tolerance analysis DOE MSA and failure analysis.
• Experience with DFMEA and Risk Assessment methods
• Knowledge on Material soft goods (textile) metal stamping injection molding insert molding die casting extrusion machining plating ultrasonic welding would be preferred
• Demonstrated experience in accomplishing objectives. Able to deliver on multiple projects simultaneously
• Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills
