About the role
Ensure the highest standard of patient care by preparing sterilising and supplying reusable medical and surgical equipment to all clinical areas in accordance with Sterilising Processing Department (SPC) policies and procedures.
Monitor and document mechanical chemical and biological indicators to guarantee the effectiveness and safety of sterilisation processes.
Maintain accurate records for each steriliser load and support quality control within all sterilising service operations upholding workplace policies and infection control standards.
Act as a knowledgeable resource within the SPC team contributing to staff education and continuously supporting departmental functions to meet patient care needs.
Hold or be willing to undertake the Sterilising Technology Certificate III demonstrating a strong commitment to professional development and exceptional customer service.
About you
Commitment to Growth: Have completed Sterilising Services Certificate III or prior experience in sterilising services with a solid understanding of workflow and sterilisation processes.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with the capacity to listen attentively follow directions accurately and collaborate effectively.
Resilience Under Pressure: Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage strict timeframes in a fast-paced high-demand environment without compromising quality.
Team Player with Cultural Awareness: Ability to work harmoniously within a diverse multicultural team contributing positively to the workplace culture.
Safety and Compliance Focused: Sound knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control guidelines National Sterilisation standards and Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) requirements alongside the flexibility to work a 7-day 24-hour rotating roster.
