We are currently seeking: An Assistant Recreation Manager to join our team. In this role you will supervise both full and part-time Recreation Staff coordinate leagues special events tournaments oversee City facilities; assures compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising the daily operation of Recreation staff overseeing facilities and City property; planning and prioritizing leagues and programs schedules staff to work; coordinating maintenance and repair work with facility maintenance or contractors.
- Hiring training supervising and evaluating the performance of assigned personnel; monitors and ensures staff compliance with departmental and City policies procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Inspecting facilities to determine maintenance needs; performing site inspections of ongoing and completed work assignments; assuring timely completion of projects to minimize disruption; observing staff to assure all safety and quality standards met; providing technical guidance to staff as required; following up with City staff to assure customer satisfaction with completed leagues and programs.
- Tracking monitoring and controlling work activities and expenditures; coordinating a variety of administrative activities including employee scheduling payroll reporting purchasing paying organization fees processes reports.
- Identifying equipment needs for facilities tournaments and special events and coordinates purchases.
- Developing cost-effective solutions for hosting tournaments leagues and special events.
- Working closely with Purchasing Budgeting and City Attorneys Departments to establish Bid documents for projects and all associate contract documents.
- Maintaining records from past services performed and tracking cost and ways to improve.
- Controlling City facilities to assure that safety rules and regulations are adhered to and that the play areas and all equipment are in safe operating condition.
- Supervising and monitoring Security systems in City Recreation facilities.
- Assisting to develop and administer the Departments budget; reviewing and adjusting project and general fund budgets monitoring and authorizing expenditures.
- Reviewing and monitoring the progress and quality of work performed by both full and part-time staff.
- Monitoring and ensuring programs and leagues are scheduled in a timely manner and in accordance with established budgets program specifications and City standards.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.

Requirements and Skills:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree or equivalent; and five years experience in Recreation with emphasis on tournaments leagues and aquatic equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver License; specific technical skills training and certifications may be required.
- Must be able to acquire a Certified Pool Operators (CPO) certificate.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a standard office environment and indoors and outdoors for supervisory oversight to include extended hours standing and sitting in different climates for outdoor work.
