About the role

As a Wardsperson you will play a key role in supporting the healthcare team by ensuring the cleanliness safety and smooth operation of the hospital wards. Your duties will involve maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for patients staff and visitors. You will work closely with nursing and medical staff to provide essential non-clinical support within the ward.

  • Efficiently transfer and transport patients equipment and furniture around the campus as directed by the Wardspersons Supervisor.

  • Assist with the collection and delivery of blood products medications and specimens to various departments ensuring timely and safe handling.

  • Support patients with meal access and collect late meals when required.

  • Assist with the safe transferring and positioning of patients including moving them to beds wheelchairs commodes and trolleys.

  • Follow infection control procedures and assist in basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

About you

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting or similar role is desirable but not essential.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team &Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

  • A positive attitude and a caring approach to patient and staff interaction.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle varying demands and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety in the workplace.

  • Committed to working a 7-day rotating roster.
