Description of Work

This is a full time TIME-LIMITED position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits for a limited duration of 24 months including paid vacation paid sick leave paid holidays retirement and health insurance. This position responds to frequent requests from claimants care providers management and the general public about both specific claims and programmatic issues. Duties include:- Determine the eligibility of compensable expenses.
- Provides direct services to adult and child victims of violent crimes.
- Establishes and maintains a resource network with health care and human services organizations.
- Establishes and maintains a directory of service agencies which provide assistance to victims of violent crimes.
- Implements a system of data collection and processing.

To qualify for this position applicants must demonstrate ALL of the following KSAs:
Experience composing documents such as reports and/or correspondence and/or other documents.
Experience working with internal and/or external customers.
Experience applying policy and/or procedure in handling claims to determine an outcome.
Management Preference:
Experience working with the criminal justice system and/or human services system.
Experience working with state and local services available to victims.
Experience working independently as well as with a team.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience;

Transcripts

- Applicants seeking Veterans Preference must attach a DD-214 Form (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty that includes Character of Discharge - Member 4 or Service 2 form) to the application.
- Applicants seeking National Guard Preference:
- A current member of the North Carolina National Guard in good standing must attach a NGB 23A (RPAS).
- A former member of the North Carolina National Guard who served for at least 6 years and were discharged under honorable conditions must attach either a DD256 or NGB 22.
