Job Description:Organization: Lawrence Public SchoolsJob Title: Building-Based Educator (SY 2025-2026)Location: Lawrence High School Who Are WeLawrence Public Schools is an urban district located 30 miles north of Boston serving more than 13000 students. More than 70% of our students speak a language other than English as their first language. We are committed to ensuring that our students who have for too long been under-served are provided with a high-quality free public education at their local district schools. Lawrence High School is seeking exceptional teachers to join our team who possess a growth mindset value collaboration and continuous feedback are passionate about their content and have an unwavering belief that all students are capable of meeting rigorous academic expectations. Core Duties and Responsibilities:Work collaboratively to align curriculum to the rigor of the MA Curriculum FrameworksCheck in daily with supervisor for coverage assignmentsSupport classroom teachers with instruction during the school dayCover classes when lead teachers are absentComplete regularly scheduled duties and assignments outside of the classroomFollow regular teachers lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning and that encourages students to participateAssign classwork and homework as necessary and according to teachers instructionsModify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various studentsMaintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environmentSupervise students out of class such as in the hallways and in the cafeteria as neededDemonstrates support and knowledge of schools goals and missionIs detail oriented when tracking students grades attendance and other student dataWorks with the Principal and Assistant Principal to ensure teaching methods are directed towards meeting and surpassing the standardsPerforms duties as assigned by PrincipalDesired Skills and Characteristics of a LHS teacher/staff:Driving desire to disrupt inequity and improve outcomes for all studentsCommitment to the academic and personal success of Lawrence Public Schools students and familiesProven experience supporting English Language LearnersAbility to take initiative and succeed in a fast-paced school environment while remaining calm and focused when faced with unexpected challengesDemonstrated capacity to create and maintain a positive learning environment in which students diverse backgrounds identities strengths and challenges are respected and to improve practice by taking and implementing frequent feedbackHumility and a good sense of humor
