Job Summary:
The University Health Network (UHN) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join the Correlative Studies Program as a Clinical Research Study Assistant PK Team. The Correlative Studies Program supports advanced translational cancer research by providing comprehensive biospecimen management services with the overarching goal of contributing to the discovery of novel cancer diagnostics and treatment strategies.

Working collaboratively with our PK nursing team the Clinical Research Study Assistant will be responsible for a range of duties including:

  • Perform venipuncture vital signs assessments and ECG procedures according to study protocols
  • Coordinate with healthcare teams to conduct timed blood sampling and assessments.
  • Facilitate the efficient flow of patients through various stages of the clinical trial
  • Order prepare and manage biospecimen collection kits
  • Chart and document procedures and assessments in the patient electronic medical record (e.g. Epic)
  • Maintain and update study documents databases and equipment maintenance records
  • Apply quality assurance procedures to ensure accurate complete and high-quality data
  • Interpret and adhere to applicable clinical research regulations to maintain compliance

Qualifications :

  • At minimum completion of a community college diploma in a health-related discipline or equivalent
  • A bachelors degree or recognized equivalent in a health-related discipline is preferred
  • At least one (1) year experience in some or all of oncology clinical trials medical terminology regulatory issues involving human subjects
  • At least 3-6-months experience performing venipuncture ECG and vital signs assessments
  • Strong communication organizational time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others in assisting with the delivery of services
  • Client service oriented with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
  • Proficiency with MS Office software required
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system an asset
  • Certification for Transportation of Dangerous Goods preferred
