Position Summary

At PIER Dining we serve more than just food we serve unforgettable moments on the harbour. Located at Pier One Sydney Harbour Autograph Collection our restaurant is a celebration of seasonal Australian produce seafood-led menus and relaxed luxury all set against the backdrop of Sydneys most iconic waterfront.

As Assistant Restaurant Manager youll support the day-to-day operations of PIER Dining lead a passionate front-of-house team and ensure every guest experience is seamless warm and memorable. Youll bring energy leadership and a love for hospitality to one of Sydneys most scenic dining destinations.

Core Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional service that reflects the Pier One and Marriott brands.
  • Support the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager - Venues in overseeing daily operations including floor service reservations and guest engagement.
  • Resolve guest concerns with professionalism and care ensuring every visit ends on a high note.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise train and motivate front-of-house staff to deliver consistent high-quality service.
  • Foster a positive inclusive and high-performing team culture.
  • Assist with scheduling onboarding and performance management.

Operational Support

  • Ensure compliance with health safety and hygiene standards.
  • Collaborate with the culinary and bar teams to deliver a cohesive dining experience.
  • Assist with inventory ordering and reporting as required.
Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hospitality Restaurant Management or related field; 2 years experience in food and beverage service or related professional area
    OR
  • 4-year bachelors degree in Hospitality or related field; 1 year experience in food and beverage service or related professional area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in premium or lifestyle dining environments
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • A passion for food wine and creating memorable guest experiences
