Job Duties

The Virginia Lottery also licenses and regulates casino gaming and mobile sports betting.

The Virginia Lottery an independent state agency is currently seeking a Senior Technical Field Representative to join its Gaming Compliance Department.

This is an internal only posting for the Virginia Lottery.

The Sr. Technical Field Representative will:
This position is responsible for conducting in-depth technical investigations of incidents and complaints related to slot machines and related equipment that include but are not limited to software/hardware and patron complaints as well as technical investigations on alleged cheating incidents involving electronic equipment and furnish reports as requested. They will also serve as liaison between IGT (Central Monitoring Control System) the Casinos Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) and other approved third-party testing labs.

Technical Field Representatives are also responsible for the evaluation of slot machine configurable options and selected payout percentages for all approved models developing strong working relationships and in-depth knowledge of various properties individuals and manufactures within the commonwealth and evaluating associated equipment software slot machines and progressive equipment at licensed properties for compliance with Gaming Regulations Standard and Statutes. Performs other related duties as required.

Senior Technical Field Representatives are responsible for mentoring and providing oversight for the Technical Field Representatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in Computer Science Information Systems or related field required. Experience in start-up operations and developing and implementing formalized procedures is required. Minimum of 4 years of Gaming Industry technical experience to include knowledge of industry standard protocols gaming central systems casino operations and gaming regulations preferred. At least two years of extensive lead or senior experience in progressively technical responsible position.
Considerable technical experience in inspections of gaming devices.
Demonstrated ability to lead and direct the work of professionals and paraprofessionals.
Knowledge of casino operations.
Knowledge of gaming regulations and internal controls.
Must be able to effectively analyze investigate resolve and recommend action for improvements and resolution.
Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
Acute interpersonal skills.
Ability to build effective working relationships with diverse groups of people and officials.
Proficient in desktop applications such as but not limited to Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint and audit software.
Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing prepare management reports and make logical and sound decisions in critical complex and changing situations.
Ability to develop and document procedures to create an efficient and effective workflow.
Demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and /or competing tasks and responsibilities.
Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution proficiencies.
Ability to maintain the utmost integrity persuasiveness and diplomacy in discussing controversial subject matter.
Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with pressure and recover quickly from setbacks.

Additional Considerations

Experience in Gaming Industry technical experience to include knowledge of industry standard protocols gaming central systems casino operations and gaming regulations preferred.
