Job Description
Assistant Warehouse Manager
Full-time Logistics Location Grayslake IL
Were looking for a highly organized and proactive Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our team. In this role youll support the efficient operation of our distribution center ensuring all receiving put-away picking and shipping processes align with company standards for service and cost-effectiveness.
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse operations including receiving inventory management picking and shipping.
Ensure all activities follow established company procedures and performance standards.
Demonstrate strong computer skills and proficiency in warehouse management systems.
Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and HazMat shipping practices.
Participate in operations improvement initiatives and problem-solving meetings (e.g. IDEA submissions).
Assist in training and certifying team members on material handling equipment as needed.
Lead or contribute to team meetings focused on performance metrics and continuous improvement.
Ensure timely completion of stock alerts when applicable.
Support the DC Manager in preparing work schedules assigning tasks and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.
Aid in the onboarding and ongoing training of warehouse team members.
HOW TO SUCCEED
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience with A/S400 and Microsoft Excel.
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety protocols.
Familiarity with alarm systems and general facility security practices.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex situations using limited guidelines.
Experience with daily management systems and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean 5S or Six Sigma.
