Job Description

Position: Personal Support Worker Day School Classroom Teacher and Placement Coordinator

Course codes: HHD30 TOJ4C TPJ3C/4C TPJ4C8/9 and TPJ2OE

Locations:

Port Perry: September 2 2025 - June 26 2026

Beaverton: New Site Starting January 30 2026 - June 26 2026

Monday - Friday

7.5 hours per day (classes run dependent on student registration)

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
  • Certificate of Qualification/ Interim Certificate of Qualification (must be in good standing) from the Ontario College of Teachers

Desired:

  • Adult and Continuing Education Experience
  • Senior Basic Qualifications Tech Qualifications
  • Experience teaching on Desire2Learn (D2L) platform as the course is run on D2L with adult students attending in person on-line and/or asynchronously.


The successful applicant should have teachable(s) and teaching experience in the subject area(s) or deemed capable per the definition in the OECTA Secondary Agreement.

Job Description:

  • Port Perry and Beaverton PSW programs are delivered in a hybrid format with some instructional days in person and the remainder delivered online (both synchronously and asynchronously).

  • Please refer to accompanying file for detailed job description covering expectations for Recruitment and Orientation Pre-PSW Program PSW Classroom Instruction Compliance and Standards Student Assessment and Evaluation for both Classroom and Placement Liaison Responsibilities Placement Preparation Placement Supervision and Mentorship Documentation Training and Development Labs and Workshops etc.
  • Depending on applicants qualifications Clinical Supervision of students in Long-term Care placement may also be required.
