Business Analyst, Translation Services Operations

At Translation Services Operations we partner with other internal Amazonian teams to translate and deliver content for users of Amazons tools and services around the world. We obsess over finding the optimal balance between quality speed and cost for customers we serve.
We are looking for an experienced business analyst who will enable effective decision making in the organization through several responsibilities: retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format; analyzing and solving business problems; translating business language into data whilst working with business partnerst to create/extract necessary data; understanding root causes and driving forward-looking improvements. You will also required to communicate complex insights succintly to stakeholders and business leaders both verbally and in writing. The ideal candidate will have a strategic analytical and collaborative mindset to deliver measurable results that enhance the efficiency quality and cost-effectiveness of our localization services.

Key job responsibilities
- Retrieve and analyze data using SQL Excel and other data management systems.
- Monitor existing metrics and create/implement new metrics where needed partnering with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities.
- Design and implement reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
- Support cross-functional teams on the day-to-day execution of the existing program implementation.
- Drive small to medium operational enhancement projects.

A day in the life
A typical day may include reviewing performance dashboards to prepare for business meetings brainstorming potential performance metrics with a cross-functional team or running leadership meetings to present insights and improvement proposals. In this role one would be constantly balancing their efforts between immediate day-to-day commitments and long-term strategic undertakings.

The Translation Services Operations team is responsible for providing translation tools resources and services to support the localization needs of Amazon businesses worldwide. We partner closely with product engineering and operations teams to enable language accessibility and contribute to Amazons mission of being the Earths most customer-centric company. Our team values a collaborative innovative and data-driven culture as we work to optimize processes improve quality and drive cost efficiencies across our global translation ecosystem.

- Experience in Excel (including VBA pivot tables array functions power pivots etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau
- Experience in business or financial analysis
- Experience with SQL
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau Quicksight or similar tools
- Bachelors degree or equivalent

- Experience partnering with executive-level leaders to identifying and solving business issues
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
