Job Description

Salary/Position Classification

  • $16.00 hourly Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 10-15 hours per week
  • This position will work onsite.

Purpose of Position

The Support Services Assistant for the Pride Center assists with well-being and support initiatives and serves as a support resource for LGBTQIA2S students.

This is a part-time non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide resources and support for students related to sexual orientation gender identity and other identities.
  • Engage in proactive outreach and collaboration with Wellness & Health Promotion Student Health and University Counseling Services.
  • Lead well-being initiatives and coordinate related programs and events.
  • Provide guidance and support to Pride Center Peer Educators
  • Assist with department programming and tabling events.
  • Collect organize and assess programmatic and student support data
  • Refer students to on campus support resources when necessary.

Required Competencies

  • Considerable knowledge regarding the concerns and issues of lesbian gay bisexual trans queer and questioning students including knowledge and understanding of gender identity and gender expression.
  • Knowledge of well-being strategies and support services
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate individual small group and larger group discussions
  • Must be resourceful self-directed and work with limited supervision
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a current UND graduate student (enrolled in courses and in good standing in their graduate program during the time of employment)
  • Graduate enrollment in counseling higher education or related program.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
