Job Title: Technology Support Specialist

Position Description: This position will provide Level I/II support for district devices and serve as Pointof Contact for technology related issues. Candidates shall be self-motivated with the ability to work in afast paced environment.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Proficient in the use of computers Microsoft Office Suite Google Workspace
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer application and technology related issues escalating issues asneeded
  • High Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues over the phone and in person
  • Technology and customer service experience preferred
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs walk carry and stand more than 80% of the time
  • Must have a valid Michigan Drivers License to be eligible to operate District vehicles

Location/Hours - Technology Services Office/District Buildings

  • This position is a 40 hour per week position
    • Typically 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Monday thru Friday but may adjusted to meet the needs of the District
  • Primary work location is in the Technology Services Office with frequent visits to district buildings

Position Expectations:
The Technology Support Specialist should have a working knowledge of computers media equipmentand catalog/filing protocol. The individual will report directly to the Technology Coordinator regardingthe scope and sequence of work to complete. The responsibilities will include but are not restricted tothe following:

  • Answer calls and emails to the Student Support Helpdesk from students
  • Access Control management to various District applications (SchoolMessenger Schoology LightSpeed Extreme Cloud Office 365 etc.)
  • PowerSchool Asset Updates/Fee Assessments and reporting
  • Inventory cleaning and inspection of devices
  • Google Workspace management (Password resets user creation group management etc.)
  • Imaging and enrolling of Chrome OS and iPad devices into management tools
  • Assists building Media Para-Professionals with Technology related issues
  • Contacts vendors to arrange servicing of damaged devices
  • Serves as an interface to the Districts Technology Support Provider
  • Assist in the configuration and maintenance of standardized testing applications/devices
