Prominent Hill is copper-gold mine a long-life asset that is part of the BHP South Australia copper province. BHP is a global company with operations in Australia North and South America across 5 different commodities.
Senior Engineer - Mining Contracts reporting to the Superintendent Mine Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing the operational aspects of sites contracts ensuring that contractual obligations are met and that partnerships with our business partners drive value for the site. The role requires close collaboration with contracting partners proactive leadership in the field compliance monitoring and financial management to ensure site operations are effective safe and aligned with organizational goals.
Location: Prominent Hill South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster:8 days on; 6 days off

In This Role You Will:
About You:
Strong understanding of contract management principles mining operations and compliance requirements.
Experience in underground mining environments for both client and contractors
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external contracting partners.
Demonstrated experience in field leadership coaching and promoting safety culture.
Proficiency in conducting audits and implementing corrective actions.
Excellent problem-solving communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and work under pressure.
Ideally have completed underground mining practical time with a solid working knowledge of the mining cycle and activities within it for a longhole open stoping paste backfill underground hardrock operation.
Understanding of safety and risk management systems.
