Job Description
Waste Connections has an immediate position available for a Container Repair / Welder located in Brooklyn NY in this position you will wear a few different hats but main duties will include welding fabricating and compactor repair. This is a full-time long-term position with a great company. If you dont mind getting your hands dirty and are a self-motivated hardworking individual with good communication skills we want to talk to you.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performweldingand electrical repair of trash containers and compactors.
- Performsandingandpaintingof trash containers.
- Maintains a clean safe work area incompliancewith Corporate and OSHA standards.
- Performs all work in accordance with establishedsafetyprocedures documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times.
- Ability to effectively communicateneeded repairs or tasks.
WORKING CONDITIONS ANDPHYSICALEFFORT:
- Extensivephysicalactivity. Requires strenuousphysicalwork;heavy lifting pushing or pulling required objects over 50 pounds.
- Work environment may be indoors in a shop or outdoors to repair containers in the yard. Usually well-lighted and ventilated. Sometimes it is necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools. These factors require following basicsafetyprecautions.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to pass (i.e. testing negative on) a pre-employment drug screening.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Respirator fit test required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience inStickandMIG welding.
- Experience in PLCs and electrical
- Fabrication experience aplus!

Pay for this role starts $34-$36: depending on relevant experience
The typical schedule is Monday-Friday occasional Saturdays as needed.
